I am a software engineer at Capgemini. on a day to day basis I am fixing/testing any bugs or issues in the systems we have developed.
I have learnt how to code in a number of different languages, such as Java, SQL/PLSQL, and GEN. I have also developed my presentation skills since being with cap.
I enjoy the program a lot, it is challenging and it keeps me interested all of the time. I have integrated with the team I work with very well and made good friends through work too.
very valued, I am given frequent feedback on the work I am doing too which makes me feel like the management care about my personal development and progress.
the day job side of things is extremely organised, but the degree side could use some improvement.
again, from work I receive a great deal of support from all of my team, but the degree side could be improved by explaining how the content we are covering will relate to the exams/real life.
a high amount of support, I have weekly meetings with my manager to voice any concerns and also to receive any updates that will benefit me.
very well, it far surpassed my expectations of an apprenticeship salary. there is also a lot of opportunity for increases which exceptionally good.
yes, the company offer other training courses to go on, there are many charity events that are hosted by Cap, and my team regularly go out for social events outside of work.
Yes
because the opportunity is too good to miss up if you're interested in IT, its the perfect start to a successful career.
prepare well for the application process, as there are a lot of people applying and standing out is key. Also be yourself, because the company look at your personality as well as intelligence; it is a very social job.
