Auditor, working on year end external audits as part of a team, dealing with a variety of financial information.
Studying towards the ACA Done a variety of courses around leadership and all sorts of professional skills
The only negative thing about the work is the culture to work very long hours
Get feedback for every job, get given opportunities to work on more important things. Don't feel valued in the sense that I do more work than the graduates yet that just gets ignored.
Induction was really good and got you used to the firm, training is useful and the support available is good. Study support is available across the board but didn't feel like I got enough help when applying for extra time (as I am dyslexic). Sensible mentor system in place. Don't think its organised well in the sense that technically I am a grade below the graduates I joined with, yet I do more work and have a better reputation than the majority of those graduates. There is no distinction between a school leaver and a graduate in terms of work load, responsibility or the technical sections we get allocated. Only distinction is what we get paid.
College gives loads of support and are always around to answer any questions.
In the office the support is really good, but as noted above I am not treated any differently from a graduate so I don't think there's any additional support for school leavers.
Living costs are covered after the 2nd year but very hard to live and save any money in the first year. Travel costs are covered and lots of social events are put on,
Loads of social activities.
Yes
Really good alternative to university, offers fast progression to an excellent salary in a relitavely short period of time (5 years). Also looks great on a CV and makes it very easy to get a job if you choose to leave.
Make sure its something you are really interested in otherwise it will be a bit dry.
