At the moment, I am based in a tax placement which is my second 6 month placement since I joined the firm in October. the daily tasks will vary massively depending on what team you are based in. The team's are really good from my experience and they give you work to do that makes you feel like you are doing a worthy task.
I have learn tonnes of new skills since joining the firm and I'm sure there are many more to come! from how to word a formal email, to fitting into the team the list goes on!
I personally love coming to work everyday and to me this is something that suited me from the first day in comparison to school. I think if you have a good work ethic and you are eager to learn, you will enjoy your time.
I feel valued just like every other employee in the firm. one of my concerns when I first joined was that they other employees would give you simple tasks because you are the apprentice but that is definitely not the case.
The structure of the programme is very good and I feel very supported as there are team managers in your placements as well as a central apprenticeship management team who are dedicated to your well-being and progression in the firm.
there is a team with the training provider that are dedicated to the KPMG360 apprentices which is very helpful and they are on call whenever you need them. I think we are one of the only firms that have dedicated teams within the training provider so we are lucky to get the level of support that we do.
There is a lot of support from the management team and also everyone else at the firm which makes you feel secure and that if there is ever any problems there are always people to help you out.
Personally the salary covers my costs well and I think I can speak for everyone on the scheme the salary is a good wage for your first job! Also there are lots of opportunities to move up in the firm and up in salary too.
there are lots of opportunities outside of work with regards to the qualifications, if you are to study towards you ACA then the chances that will arrive in the future will be endless.
Yes
It's a great firm to work for as an employee and the scheme in particular gives you a great chance to gain top quality industry experience and study towards great qualifications at the same time.
Be confident but not overly confident when applying and also do your research! you will need to put in some work in order to get a job at a very competitive firm.
