My role is to assist the team In what it needs. if it loading the vans up with tools or taking reading for maintenance.
i have learnt many new skills, a lot to do with eclectics, how to take a voltage or current reading to how to solve problems in different situations.
i enjoy the both sides of learning , how you learn what you need to do and all the theory behind the equipment in a classroom then get to go out and practice it in the real world situation.
Very valued, a lot of ex apprentices have been made higher grades because of what they have learnt on the scheme and this is due to the way they teach and what they teach,
we were in a bit of a turnaround of places so it was a bit hectic but they handled it very well and made sure we all left with what we needed.
all that you need, if you need extra help on a particular piece of coursework and you tell them early then they will either give you longer or take you after classes and give you a hand
exactly the same, there's NVQ work to be done when you’re at your depot and if your struggling they will help teach you it or make sure you get extra time to double check your work. lots of chances to ask for help.
first year is very tough for money and so does the other two years but there's a chance for overtime and night duty to help bump up you pay.
not really, what thy teach you can be transferred abroad and to other companies but they like to keep people within the company after the investment they made in you.
Yes
plenty of money to be made when you finish and load of opportunities to go higher up in the company. there benefits to working with a big company and network rail take care of its employees.
Be positive in interviews and make sure you read up about what network rail are working on and where you could see yourself working in the future.
