I was a customer service adviser, which would be working on the counter serving people and booking appointments. I am now a personal banker so I work with customers on a more personal basis opening their accounts and helping save or make money.
I have learnt a lot of good things from my apprenticeship, such as more details of risk management and a greater knowledge of the banking industry which has helped me in my day to day role to help customers.
I enjoy the programme a lot, 'really enjoyed learning the new skills and further into the banking industry, it has made me realise how much I love my career.
I feel very valued, I have been able to move up in my career very easily, and they taught me risk management and a lot of management functions.
It was very well structured for the exam and then when it went into work basked learning and turned into a mess, but it has been put back on tack and is working well at the moment.
There is a lot of support, we use emails, whatsapp, have 121 calls with our tutor, I have a monthly review meeting with my Regional manager and sometimes a call with the divisional manager
At first I didn't get much support, and it was very hard to work around my job role. With my new role and new manager I'm able to block my diary out and take the time I need.
My salary meets costs, but that's only because I have benefits from outside of work, if I wasn't to have those then my salary wouldn't cover my living costs.
There are a lot of company events that go on such as, community days, helping at gay pride, meeting new business partners. They used to do something called a road show, which was where you could meet people in your division and speak to them about personal development.
Yes
I really love the company, they offer a lot of benefits including money off at shops, a great pension, sharesave, options to buy shares and much more.
be yourself, its not as scary as you think it will be. Takes a while to get into the job but when you get there it's great. Take it slow, there is a lot to take in But always remember to HAVE FUN :)
