I am currently a trainee associate on the Higher Apprentice route, based in Corporate Tax. On a day-to-day basis I liaise with client, HMRC, prepare and complete corporation tax computations which are submitted to HMRC by the relevant deadlines. I interact with all levels in PwC, ranging from the director to the graduates and can definitely say that the people is what has made working for this firm so enjoyable. As I am not in my 2nd year, I have much greater responsibilities and with that, PwC recognise this and have promoted me accordingly. This means a lot to me, as it shows I am valued and my hard work is recognised. I am also studying for my ACA along side and having the support of PwC to be able to complete this is extremely beneficial for my progress. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at PwC so far and look forward to my future at this firm
ACA - have now completed 40% of my qualification all with the support of PwC Diploma - I have completed my level 4 diploma which has added to my skillset at the work place General skills - collaboration/speaking/listening/time management
I always believed Univeristy was the only route but I would not change my decision to try the higher apprentice route as I am already ahead of where I would be if I had graduated and joined instead.
PwC always value and recognise you as an individual and the work and effort that you contribute to the team. I have been highlighted for so many different things that I have got involved with at the firm and it makes it feel worthwhile. Appreciation is always given for what you do.
Each higher apprentice has a people manager and a higher apprentice support manager, as well as a buddy to help guide you through the work. They are my first point of contact but the firm does not make you feel that they are the only people you can turn to, everyone always makes themselves available and are so welcoming and supportive.
Plenty of support is made available and they really do try to tailor to your needs.
The support is one of the main aspects of working at PwC that has stood out for me. I could not be where I am today in my career and in my studies without this.
Yes, I am happy with my salary and the extra expenses that PwC cover - e.g travel costs
There are so many activities and opportunities to get involved in - you will be lost for choice. Pwc promotes this as they encourage to have some time for yourself.
