Discover EY is a one day programme which allowed students to learn more about the company and their service lines. The day involved presentations given by the staff about their company and the business apprenticeship scheme. Each group were required to give a presentation based on a case study they had been analysing.
Over the course of the day my confidence grew and my team working skills developed mainly through the presentation activity.
I thoroughly enjoyed the programme as it was an opportunity to meet new people and learn more about the company.
I feel very valued as they did their best to accommodate everyone and make everyone feel comfortable. They were willing to pay for travel expenses and lunch was included.
The day was very well organised and structured as they started with icebreakers to lighten the mood and make everyone feel comfortable. This was also a good opportunity to speak to different people. The talks were concise and interesting.
Each table had an allocated member of staff who is there to provide support and to answer any questions you may have.
Although I lived fairly close to the location of the programme, other students who had to travel further had their expenses paid for.
Travel expenses were paid for by the company.
After the Discover EY programme I received an email about possibly joining the Business Academy programme or the Business Apprenticeship programme.
Yes
Overall it was an enjoyable experience and the staff were a great help on the day with support and informative talks.
When applying to the programme I would advise doing some practise psychometric tests to ensure you are prepared. The application process is also great practise for any future applications.
