To gain experience of the whole Railway network and the different maintenance tasks that come with this.
Many new skills in track maintenance, inspections, health and safety, leadership duties and NVQs.
I enjoy being part of a team and learning new skills and techniques off the people I work with.
I have good communication with my manager and this leads me to feel valued by Network Rail.
Overall it is structured well, with a good balance of depot experience along with classroom based learning.
I receive a decent level of support when attending training courses and completing assignment work.
My manager is always involved in what I should do to get the best from the apprenticeship scheme.
Years one and two could be better however travel costs are always provided when needed.
When at Gosport Network Rail training centre in the first year there were many opportunities to grasp, one being the football team.
