  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Depending upon my rotational placement, my role day to day varies. I complete company related tasks, with daily interactions with each member of the department. I have a large responsibility to be the best person I can be due to the scale and importance of the company and the work I'm doing for Leonardo. Each department has a unique project to undertake over the 3 months I spend in each of the departments.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Leonardo?
  • Highly valued, with the aging workforce, Leonardo requires a new young workforce to keep them going for another 60 years. the intake of young graduates and apprentices have risen so the my worth at the company is very high in comparison, and due to the work and effort I put in. this is recognised by pay reviews and yearly wage increases for excellent performance.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The structure is very organised and set up. For the apprentices, there's an on-site apprentice team organising our apprenticeships for the next 4 years, with a clear placement plan in place till 2019. So well organised that there is a degree of flexibility with the placement plan.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The apprentice wage is good. Its' highly competitive with other apprenticeships. With meeting the costs, it covers anything I need to do (within reason and limits). It increases year by year, meaning it's plenty time to get accommodation in the capital or a pretty good car.
