Day-to-day roles vary depending upon what department you are working in at the time, due to the structure of the rotational placement plan. Some tasks involve working at a computer where you will carry out tasks such as design. Whereas other placements will involve a lot of hands on work, working on the products that we send out to the customers.
From my time so far I have learnt many new skills. Some coming from on site and others from the college. I am working towards a HND in engineering systems and also an onsite qualification at SVQ level 3 standard. There are also a lot of internal awareness sessions which also give you extra knowledge on certain aspects of the business which can be helpful.
The apprenticeship programme has been very enjoyable for me so far. The variety in tasks available is of a good standard which ensures that there is something for everyone within the apprentice programme. The apprentice team all get on really well which makes working life easier and more enjoyable. The company is also a good place to be as it has a good culture and looks after its employees in terms of a competitive wage and many benefits etc. Overall, I'd say the culture of the company exceeded expectations.
Apprentices seem to be quite high up on the companies priority list which is beneficial as it means that there are always opportunities for us. More often then not there is always work to do and if you are stuck most employees within you department are more than happy to help you out.
The programme has quite a good structure to it. The rotational placements are planned out well in advance which allows you to know what placements you will be going into and when. College can sometimes be a downside as the classes/lecturers could sometimes be done better. However, overall the programme is run well.
More often than not there is always help available to the apprentices. Whether it be from college or within the workplace. In the workplace there are plenty of experienced engineers who will help as much as they can to help you out. Same goes for the lecturers at college.

Salary is decent for an apprentice. Depending upon where you come from and other commitments you have i.e. travel money, housing costs etc. it may possibly be a struggle for some people. However in comparison with other places and keeping in mind its an apprentice level pay, I'd say the pay was fair.
Usually quite a lot of voluntary activities available within working hours which apprentices can get involved in. Some of the activities are chosen for you whereas some are offered to all on a voluntary basis.
Yes
Overall a good place to work. The company looks after its apprentices and offers a competitive salary which will catch the eye of people wanting to apply. There are also many opportunities for you to advance in your chosen career path.
Be prepared for any part of the process. Answer the questions as best as you possibly can and give as much detail as you can.
