my role is a manufacturing technical apprentice and during my apprenticeship I will be on a rotational placement plan that allows me to gain experience from different departments within the business.
I have gained a P.E.O so far from my apprenticeship and I have also learned the basics of a coding language c# I have taken part in several training courses both on and off site.
I enjoy my programme I think that it is a good way to learn valuable experience first hand within the engineering industry, it also allows me to network with a range of highly skilled individuals.
I feel that Leonardo values the apprenticeship programme very much as apprentices have a very rooted connection within the company with some of the now senior managers being apprentices themselves
the programme that I am on is very well structured as it includes both SVQ work and also college work that are both essential parts to the programme
I receive a good amount of support from my training provider as they are easily accessible and any notes or training missed they are only an email away.
I receive a good amount of support from my employer as if I am needing help or if I am struggling with a certain aspect of work then they are happy to help
my salary meets my cost fairly and I do not have any problems financially regarding my apprenticeship I live fairly close to Leonardo so I don't have many travelling expenses
there are plenty of opportunities outside of work to take part in. this can be to represent the company or to actually work offsite as many of the customers are worldwide.
Yes
I would recommend Leonardo to my friends as the company offers a very good programme and also there are career opportunities that are waiting for you once you complete the apprenticeship
put effort into the application form and on the day of the assessment centre don't be afraid to ask people questions and also work well in a team
