My day to day work varies depending on what placement I'm in. When I was in Testing and Commissioning I accompanied the engineers to gain hands on and reactor experience. Currently my work involves learning about Health Physics (regulations, permits, monitoring, etc.) and helping to compile data for reports.
I'm much more proficient with Microsoft Office than I was. I've developed my mathematical, and engineering science knowledge while at college. I'm more confident and better at interacting with others as a result of stretch assignments and STEM work.
The Nuclear Early Careers team is friendly, helpful and dedicated. We meet through our monthly forums, stretch assignments and socials. I've enjoyed getting to know them. a lot. I enjoyed work as much as I expected to, learning and developing on the job is very exciting.
I feel valued. Early Careers make a point of making sure everyone's voice is heard and give you freedom to exercise new ideas and give back to the community.
My programme is very well organised. My placements have been mapped out for three years but still offer flexibility.
I'm yet to meet someone who hasn't offered a helping hand.

Extremely well. Being local means I can live at home and save for a house, rather than renting.
Lots through Stretch assignments, conferences and STEM activities.
Yes
I believe it to be better than university as I'll end up with 5 years experience, an honers degree and no debt.
