I am a technical apprentice, my daily tasks vary as I change department every 3 months. I can be given a variety of manufacturing and design tasks from designing test units to making cables for various different applications
I have developed my interpersonal skills and my confidence has grown due to the constant interaction with new people and working in different groups. I have achieved a B in my HNC graded unit and have completed and SVQ2 in performing engineering operations through college. At work I have completed courses on design for manufacture and laser physics
I really enjoy working for Leonardo as it is a very relaxed working environment. Every team I have worked with have been easily approachable and the company does well to look after it's employees
The apprentices are highly valued with the company and over the last year of my apprenticeship my efforts have been recognised with bonuses and invitations to company events
The programme has expanded rapidly over the last year which has led to a bit of disorganisation with regards to the coursework
The college provides support with all coursework
I receive all of the support I require from both my line manager and assessor
The salary is enough to cover all of my expenses and increases yearly
I have been invited to many company events and I have a free membership to Edinburgh leisure gyms
Yes
It is a great place to work and the company looks after it's employees. The work is interesting and engaging
Be confident during the interviews and engage with others during the assessment tasks
