I have been able to gain an in-depth knowledge into various different taxes as well as the skills that are necessary to have whilst working in a business environment. The communication skills that I have learnt when dealing with different types of clients and people has been invaluable.
It has been a major learning curve with its ups and down but overall it has been an extremely enjoyable experience which has been made even better by the qualifications that can be taken away from the apprenticeship.
PwC are very keen to recognise the value of all their employees especially the junior members partaking in qualifications as well as a full time job. I have received internal praise as well as external praise from clients and have been rewarded for my efforts with financial and non-financial rewards.
The entire process of the higher apprenticeship is extremely well structured from the very start with PwC allocating specific teams and people to provide mentoring as well as giving the apprentices a voice to be heard for future improvements.
We are given a fair amount of support from the tutors that are provided to teach us the syllabus. The external training and teaching aids that we are made aware of that allow us to get the best out of the course and apprenticeship.
The support that we are given from our employer is extremely beneficial and they are always very willing to help. Many of the people that you work with have previously been in the type of situation that you are in now and are very understanding of what it is like. They are also always willing to provide their knowledge regarding the exams and qualifications that we are involved in.
The salary is very dependant on the circumstances, it is rather expensive for me to travel to the office as well as the daily costs of working in London, however for an apprentice salary it is definitely a reasonable amount as well as the benefits that we are provided with
PwC encourages a one firm mindset. This promotes the togetherness of the firm as well as the activities both internal and external that PwC either provide themselves or promote to their staff to partake in. They also make sure that we are aware of local communities and charities to help others
