I am a multi-skilled Technician, I carry out continuous improvements and maintenance tasks on production line equipment, I interact with operators and follow technicians to complete the tasks that I encounter.
I am in the process of completing an engineering apprenticeship, currently finishing my HNC in electrical and Electronic engineering. I have completed my internal and external qualifications, notable internal ones include an Allen-Bradley PLC course and a Working at Height Rescue course, external ones include a Spyrax-Sarco Steam appreciation course and a Mig and Tig Welding Course.
I enjoy my programme very much, I enjoy overcoming the challenges that I face on a daily basis, the camaraderie I share with my follow employees makes work enjoyable. On site all employees are pleasant, welcoming and make you feel part of a team.
I feel that Premier Foods have invested a lot of faith in my ability and the resulting effect has meant that I have experienced many things. I have developed as an employee and this is due to how the company values me and wants me to succeed for mine and their benefit.
The structure of my apprenticeship has been reasonable throughout it's duration, positives include the numerous training courses that I have been on and working with a mentor in the third year of my apprenticeship. A negative includes the fact that I was not working with a mentor from the beginning of the programme, there also could have been more regular and constructive support meetings.
The tutors within West Notts College are very helpful, they are always on hand to guide you and ensure you are heading in the right direction to completing the course.
I receive a lot of support from my employers, I can talk to people if I have any personal issues and my fellow colleagues are always willing to help with any tasks that I am struggling with.
Very well.
Premier Foods has an active Sports and Social club, there are numerous company events and activities that you can get involved in as well.
