The placement I am in right now as a part of the rotation programme is Tech solutions. I am part of the IT project management function within Tech Solutions Service Desk and Infrastructure Team, working with internal clients to deliver end-to-end infrastructure solutions across our digital platforms. On a day to day basis I interact with engineers, architects and security to ensure the requirements of the projects I manage are meeting expectations. I also report on costs and time spent on each project to ensure they are delivered on time and within budget.
I've learnt all the fundamental skills needed for Excel and am also studying towards AAT level 3 as part of the foundation year of this programme. Which is a really good insight into the world of accountancy and Excel is used on an everyday basis so is very useful.
The people I work with makes the work I do even more enjoyable as they are really supportive and fun to work with. KPMG is a great environment to work in with friendly faces everywhere you go and no one thinks of you as an apprentice we are treated all at the same level.
Very much so, they value our hard work and skills and want us to develop as much as possible so that not only the business benefits but so does all its workers.
Everything is planned out very well, and we are kept well informed about coming up exams and courses we have to take. We have presentations every 2 weeks or so to keep us well informed about any news and upcoming events. We get multiple studying resources so that we have as much support as possible to pass our exams with flying colours.
As noted above, we receive a lot of support including a tutor, online courses and an AAT account where we can find past papers and study guides.
We are provided with as much support as we need, meaning they are open to helping you out more if you need it and will leave you to excel on your own while keeping tabs on you once in a while. They will answer any question you might have whether it's silly or serious.
It definitely meets my costs but I still at home so my costs are much lower than someone who is living in an apartment. We get an allowance for lunch everyday which is great!
You can get involved in as much volunteer work, sports clubs and networks as you want as long as you prioritise your work first :)
Yes
It's an amazing programme where you get to rotate into multiple departments so you get loads of experience and you get paid!
Be yourself as they love people who can be themselves but also be professional as KPMG is one of the top 4 :)
