Software Engineer, creating new functionality for new or existing applications. Writing and testing code, conducting code reviews, working alongside the client.
Prior to joining Capgemini I had no experience in Java and always found the thought of becoming a Java developer scary. Capgemini have provided me with great support and resources to develop and are continually giving me new things to work on so I can grow.
I love my programme, although it is challenging I have learnt a vast amount in short space of time. I work in a team who are fully supportive of us and always willing to help and give advice when needed.
Capgemini really look after us apprentices and we have always been treated as part of the team - even when first starting with very little experience. We are always receiving awards/praise for the work that we do and all opinions are taken on board.
The program has grown a lot since I first joined and is extremely well organised.
We have a vast amount fo support available to us. Our tutors are on hand when ever we need them, even so that I was having difficulty understanding coursework requirements, emailed my module tutor and to which I had a response back within 30 minutes... On a Sunday! This has happened on several occasions with different tutors. The tutors always give you support when needed and always more than willing to help.
Capgemini give us great support, the Apprentice management team allow us to have an additional 22 days study per year and our managers are always keen for us to develop ourselves and provide guidance on ways we can do it.
I have no issues with any costs working for capgemini. They pay a really good wage which has allowed me to move out and live an independent life whilst studying.
