I'm a Software Engineer over at Capgemini, I run a feed of data each day using SQL. I interact with my team and put myself forward for work that I think I can achieve.
There is lots of training and other opportunities available for me to pickup new skills while on the job, I have developed my coding skills such as Java and SQL significantly since I started.
I enjoy my time and work at Capgemini a lot, after joining they exceeded my expectations a lot having a friendly environment for me to join. My team was kind and helped me fit in quickly helping me to learn the tools and things I needed to do while on the job.
I felt very valued by Capgemini upon completing different pieces of work assigned to me, it gave me a sense of achieving something and I could tell peers were happy with a good job being done.
In my opinion the programme is very well organized, we had a brilliant week of induction which let us meet others like us. We also had a long period of training which let us test ourselves and see what we were capable of.
I get multiple sessions each week to be able to learn and ask questions about the topics I learn. It's rather easy to get into contact with people if we have any problems.
I was given a lot of guidance and opportunities from Capgemini upon joining, there was multiple people around me set-up for support and to answer any general questions that I had when settling in.
My current salary fully covers all of my needs, whether these be traveling to and from work or other general living expenses. There is also plenty left over for social events in and out of the company.
There are plenty activities set-up that you can take part in while at Capgemini, it fully depends on how much you want to do. These can be charity events to take part in such as going running or cycling.
Yes
My time at Capgemini so far has been a wonderful experience, everyone I have met has been friendly and willing to lend me a hand with anything I needed to do. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone I know as I enjoy it myself.
As for tips for applying as long as you have your story about why you want to join and show a large passion for the job and I.T you can achieve it. Personally I was told from my peers at the time to give up or not to try and apply, I made it in so definitely don't give up.
