I am part of a support team for my role in Capgemini. We support at platform in which i have been working on since joining just over a year ago. I have around 5 customers that i interact with daily.
Since joining I have learnt so much software and how to configure it. This is mostly cloud software which will be great for the future. I have also attended 3 training courses which extended my knowledge greatly.
I enjoy coming to work every day because of the team aspect, i couldnt have asked to be placed on a better team. Everyone is willing to help and aid my learning as they know this will build me into a fantastic future character.
My managers and senior members of my team are always communicating and requiring me to do jobs/tasks for them so therefore i know that i am a valuable member to my team aswell as the company.
It was well structured from the university in the fact that it is simple to follow and understand what needs doing and when. There is also support sessions every week and also lectures to interact with others.
I recieve as much support as i need, we have tutors contact details and we can attend sessions with them every wednesday during their 'office hours'. They are always there willing to help and offer advice.
My managers try to tailor the work I do in the office to the work i am doing at university. This is not always simple as the technology i use on a day to day basis is far more advanced than university.
As i travel quite a long distance to work every day i do find that my wage is not substantial enough to cover this. Especially as i am not allowed to expense my university days so i end up being out of pocket by aorund £50.
There is always something going on organised by varying members of the team. These can be social or physical sports for example. It is always fun to attend the gym at work and be with others.
Yes
It is a fun environment in which is very fast paced and you will learn so much. It is alot of work balancing university and your full time job but the reward you get out of this far outweighs the work.
Make sure you be yourself and dont try and be someone you're not. Capgemini only want the best people who are right for the job and so if that isnt you, they will know this and disregard you from the process.
