I am a KPMG 360 Apprentice and this means I rotate around all functioning areas of KPMG. Daily tasks will differ on what department you are in. We have both client facing and interal work placements, whilst completing our Accounting qualifications.
We gain the AAT Level 3 and 4 qualifications, followed by ACA. We go to BPP university for these, however get trained on the job by our colleagues at KPMG. We have learnt KPMG values and act professionally, with integrity and are honest in all our conversations.
The teams we meet are always very supportive and approachable. KPMG encourage us to 'bring our whole selves to work' and no one is judgemental. I love coming to work as each day is a new adventure and challenge.
Our value to the firm is shown by the appreciation from all grades. We get constant feedback from managers, directors and fellow peers. I personally feel very valued.
We had a week induction which was thought out impeccably, followed by a week of college. All important dates and meetings are put into our diary in advance, and support is given both internally and externally by the BPP support team. All colleagues are happy to help too.
Our tutor, BBP support team, KPMG PQT Team, and colleagues all provide support for us during exam periods and during work hours. We also get given content and online tests to help, and get emailed by BPP to reach out incase we have queries.
Our 360 Team are not the main support link, however we have a PQT team who specialise in helping during professional exam periods, they are extremely helpful and approachable.
As I am only 19 just finished school, my salary is more than enough to cover all my living and social costs. You can get discounted travel costs, and salaries vary on your location. All costs spent for work are expensed.
There are always team events and social events to take part in. KPMG also offer volunteer leave, which is extra holiday given purely for volunteering. London office also has a gym you can join.
Yes
I think the skills and experiences you have are so invaluable and it is a great opportunity and different but as highly valued path as University.
Always be yourself and prepare in advance. It isn't as overwhelming as you think it is prior. And everyone is in the same position.
