I am a Relationship Assistant. Day to day role is to respond to customer queries, assist the Relationship Managers by openiong and closing spread sheets, chasing customers for management accounts and completing any tasks they've asked us to.
I have developed my excel skills through Barclays as they have provided a training scheme for this which is free of charge. I have also become first aid trained through Barclays which was free of charge for me. My communication skills have developed and this has also helped me in my personal life.
I enjoy my programme as I am learning on the job and being paid to learn. I enjoy learning so being paid for it is even better! I also enjoy speaking to customers and building relationships with them as well as learning about Barclays and the role I am in. Everyday is different and I'm always learning

At the beginning of the apprenticeship I didn't really know what was going on or how it was based but over time everything has fallen into place and become more clear throughout. I now feel very confident in what I am doing in my aprenticeship
I feel like I receive the amount of support I need/wish for. If I have ever asked for support my trainer has given me a very detailed response.
Barclays gives me an hour a week to complete the NVQ training. Since completing all the training Barclays have given me 2 hours a week within my work hours to complete revision, not many places would give this level of support.
My salary is a very competitive salary and was a lot higher than I ever expected it to be compared to the other aprenticeships I was looking at. I recently got a new car on finance and started paying my own telephone bill as well as rent and my own pension contributions, my salary covers all of this as well as leaving me money to save each month and to spend.
Barclays gives us oppurtunities to get involved with charities and community work

Barclays is an excellent company to work for. You can receive a lot of benefits and have so many different ways you can develop and grow. The company offers support in all aspects.
Make sure you are focused during your work hours as you need to be on the ball. Make sure you act in work as you would in private as you are representing Barclays at all times. Make sure you talk to your team leaders if you have any issues/concerns as they will help you.
