My everyday role involves maintaining a variety of machines used to produce Mr Kipling cakes and ensuring the production of the product is smooth and efficient
I have learned to give opinions on how to make production better and more efficient and if a machine could be made better, I have learned how to use multiple different tool to complete given tasks while working
I thoroughly enjoy my programme as it gives me opportunity to look at different perspectives of the manufacturing of the product for example electrical, mechanical and how water and steam systems have an impact on the production of Mr Kipling cakes
I feel very well valued at premier foods as if I am a fully qualified worker we are given smaller jobs to build us upto becoming confident and qualified at premier foods this allows us to feel more valuable towards the company as we have our own inputs
I believe that the structure of the programme at premier foods is very well structured as it not only allows you complete your wanted job but gives you an insight of other jobs that could be open for you like pipe work, joinery, electrical and mechanical work this therefore allows you to get a feel for other jobs and could possible make you change your mind on your requested job
I receive alot of support from my training provider this is good because I can see how much I am improving while I am at work
I receive alot of support from my employer this is good because it makes me want to continue working and doesn't give me the though of not wanting to go to work as support is always available
I believe my salary is good and is better than most apprenticeships offer however not all. But I believe it's is certainly acceptable for an apprentice wage, the wage increases dramatically through out the apprenticeship making the apprenticeship much more work while and rewarding
I'm am yet to find out as I am a new apprentice however I believe there will be.
Yes
I would recommend because the placement offers an execedingly wide range of opportunities with in the work place, the pay is good so there is no feeling that you are working for nothing the scheme is challenging yet fun and rewarding and this makes me want to work.
There is usually a small intake of apprentices therefore if you feel like you want this apprenticeship make sure you are prepared for a challenge when being interviewed as the questions are general engineering questions yet challenging to test skill and knowledge
