I serve customers at the counter completing their transactions such as cash withdrawals, deposits and transfers etc. I also work on the help and advice desk, dealing with more complex customer queries and refer customers to relevant departments or colleagues where necessary
I have become more confident in speaking to customers in a face to face environment and I have developed a range of product knowledge which helps my confidence build.
I enjoyed the programme because meeting up with my trainer every month and going over what I had done was a change from being on the counter all day everyday.
I do feel valued as we are given a reasonable salary and other benefits such as colleague offers, bonuses etc which help motivate us and make us feel valued.
It didn't start off very organised as I started my apprenticeship later than expected due to one trainer leaving the company. However, once I started, it was structured and we had good communication so were able to organise meetings once a month at least.
A lot. my training provider was very helpful as she always told me to ask if I needed help. We were able to communicate by email, text messaging and phone calls so if I ever needed help with anything, all I had to do was ask
Not much for the apprenticeship as I was told I would have time at work to complete my workbooks etc. However, all of my workbooks or courses were done at home in my own time. The only time I was given was when I had a meeting with my training provider.
It is a good salary but sometimes I feel like we are overworked when we are asked to do a lot of extra things. However, I did expect a higher salary working in a bank!
I think there are opportunities outside of work as the skills I have build on and acquired here are useful for a range of jobs. However that is dependant on what sort of job we want to go in to.
Yes
I feel a sense of pride working for the Lloyds Banking group because it is such a huge, well known company and I feel good to be a part of it.
You need to be a team player. Working here involves a range of different jobs, interacting with different people, both customers and colleagues. You have to be willing to provide a helping hand to everyone, even management if they need you to help them with something they're doing.
