My role within my current team is to provide help and support to my colleagues alongside carrying out my own duties and tasks. These can range from completing a VAT Return, to performing a client's management accounts or even producing the Financial Statement's for our clients.
I have definitely increased in my technical knowledge regarding accounting meanwhile I have also developed very transferable skills such as communication and teamwork.
To a great extent, it's pretty much everything I was searching for in terms of working and studying. I have no regret in choosing my apprenticeship over going to university.
Very valued, as Apprentices I believe we are very respected and given responsibilities just like my other colleagues. We are held to account for our tasks and kept on the same level as all staff.
The induction and training is well organised however their is some lack of confidence as this is the first year of the programme and we are setting the blueprint.
To be honest, apart from the tuition I did not reach out to my training provider. The tuition and teaching is well however reaching out to them apart from the tuition has been difficult and not clear.
I receive a lot of support from my colleagues especially those who are more senior then me. They are very welcoming and open to every question.
To be honest, living in London is very expensive and an increased salary rate would help out a lot with some of our struggles as apprentices. i.e. transport, daily costs etc.
There are voluntary events however these generally tend to be for Corporate Responsibility. Apart from that no, I do not find that there are a lot of events.
Yes
It is a fantastic place to be, it is very people focussed whilst you can advance your career through studies and networking. The people are lovely and in general just a very good atmosphere.
Be very expressive, however maintain professional. We are a very people's firm and we appreciate people's concerns and struggles. Do not be hesitant to ask any questions you may have.
