Digital and Technology Degree Apprentice within this apprenticeship you have four 6 month placements within Technology and operations. I have had placements 2 different placements so far. both placements have been very interesting.
I am studying towards a degree in Digital and Technology Solutions, there are also opportunities to learn new skills within the company for example Spanish.
I love it the team is great and Santander really do try and make sure you're happy within the team. the programme was a lot better than expected. I get on very well with the other apprentices on the scheme.
very valued, upon completing tasks I even get recognition from directors.
we are the first group of people to start this apprenticeship therefore everything cant be perfect but it was a really good effort
Santander are not responsible for the degree training this is done externally. we have 2, 2 hour lectures a week after work hours. the tutors are accessible via email and Skype and we have a tutor that looks over us for the duration of the apprenticeship and makes sure we're up to date with our lectures. the tasks can be hard but a degree was never going to be easy. I don't enjoy this element of the apprenticeship although I appreciate how important it is. ill bullet point my dislikes(bare in mind this is my own opinion and other may experience this differently) : -lecture most of the time can be irrelevant to the actual task and when asking for help we'll just get told to refer to the lecture -lectures can fell too long and quite boring - terms are really long and we never actual get long holidays from uni work like a traditional uni student. we will have to work throughout summer and only get two weeks off in august. (bare in mind we are still working full time)
we are given an apprentice manager who stays with you for the duration of the apprenticeship and a line manager that only stays with you for your rotation. both are very accessible and very friendly and supportive.
I am very happy with our salary, any travel to offices other than our own is paid for.
football team, charity events, volunteering and any social activities that us apprentices arrange.
Yes
