I am an apprentice and my role varies, I have been based in Audit, Advisory and Tax, so my days are never the same depending on which department I am working on. I can be doing a companies year end audit and the next day be working on a Tax department and that's what I love about my role.
Yes, we do AAT Level 3 and Level 4 and also Level 7 qualification, this training is provided to us by an external provider, we also have access to internal trainings such as, writing skills, presentation skills, communication skills and so on.
I enjoy my programme a lot, I enjoy the work I get given, I enjoy the different teams I work in, I enjoy the culture and values we have in KPMG and I am glad I joined KPMG instead of going into university.
I feel very valued by KPMG, I feel appreciated by the teams I work on and appreciated my senior members of my team.
I feel my programme is structured well, because the end goal will allow us to become a chartered account without ever going into university, so the training we receive was well though of to ensure we achieve our end goals.
We receive a lot of support from our training provider, we have an online platform we can use to study, we have coaches that can help us one to one, we have online videos of previous lectures that allow us to go over the content we need to revise and so on.
I receive a lot of support from my manager, my buddy, my colleagues whom understand that I am a normal human being and that sometimes I need a little helping hand.
We are paid above living wage cost and in accordance to our location, experience and grade, so my salary meets my costs.
Yes, they are opportunites outside of work. They are many company events, for example TedEx, there are voluntary opportunities you can get involved with and so on.
Yes
Because I feel valued, I feel that our culture and diversity make us one of the best places to work for, we all bring ourselves to work and feel as if we belong. KPMG cares about its people, and that is very important to me.
The best advice I can give to other applying to KPMG is, be brave, be bold, be yourself, because YOU are the protect KPMG will ''sell''...so be you.
