Physical crude trading operations. Managing the movement of oil across the globe, from our own production to cargos traded in the markets. Involves interaction with our front line traders to understand deal types, charterers to better understand the freight markets and with counterparts to ensure that the operations are as smooth as possible.
Internal training workshops covering all aspects of the business. Sitting on the trading desks to learn from experienced members of the team.
Honestly believe there is no single better opportunity to explore and develop myself in the world of oil trading. Fantastic culture across the company, always encouraging you to try new things and develop yourself. Far exceeded my expectations on day 1.
Regular meetings with managers and feedback from the functions you work with. Given several opportunities to work on projects/rotations/desks in order to enhance your knowledge, all of which comes as a direct result of recognizing good, sold work.
Clear. All potential rotations separated into year blocks so everyone is aware of what is out there. Rigorous and well structured training program throughout the 5 years, with plenty of opportunity to take on more.
Experienced colleagues across the business are very supportive of the young talent that is employed (graduates, school leavers etc) and I've found that every support is given in both formal and informal manor.
Speak up culture is made very clear here from the offset and always feel comfortable taking any issues to management/ HR / mentors - depending on the situation.
Feel very well rewarded when taking into account age, experience and job responsibility.
Very large and wide ranging group of graduates that join throughout each year. All of whom of differing ages & backgrounds. Several social events put on throughout the year as well as many sporting events.
Yes
All of the above. Great place to begin your career, fantastic support and a place with so many genuine potential avenues for an exciting career.
Be yourself and answer your questions honestly, don't try to fit model interview answers in the hope it will get you through. Thoroughly research the company and find out areas of the business that interest you.
