Audit Assistant, performing routine tasks as part of an audit team. Experiences and opportunities vary on a client by client basis. You interact with your team regularly and also the client. You are given you own responsibilities and ownership of certain work.
We are sent to university in order to ascertain an accountancy degree. We get internal training as well as the university training whilst also receiving ICAS training to gain full CA status.
Work life balance is good given I am in a regional office. The working team is one of the best aspects of the job. Company culture is also positive. Expectations of my work are always met.
Appreciation from the lower level of management yes. Higher up it is harder to say you are recognised or even known but that is natural given the amount of people working there.
Organisation could improve. Minor changes are always made year on year which leads to confusion every now and then. In general I know and understand my course structure and what I will have at the end of my 5 years.
Tutors at university are accessible. Teaching isn't always of the highest standard and a lot of self-teaching is involved. I don't massively enjoy the training aspect.
Perfomance manager assigned. Progress always updated and checked to ensure all the support you have in adequate. There is also a training team in place to help all those on training contracts.
Salary and package covers everything. Paid adequately and uni costs all covered by the firm. Stands out as by far the most attractive option as a result of this.
Loads of networking events, inter company socials. Football events on a regular basis and plenty of volunteering options if you wish to take part.

The support of the firm and the status of it set you up for a successful career plus the financial benefits are unrivalled in the industry.
Ensure you don't rush your online tests. Stay calm in the interview, and just make sure you're yourself. The process is long but worth it, make sure you have prepared some example scenarios.
