Oracle procurement consultant. Day to day can involve liaising with team members and the client to understand requirements and in turn set up the configuration in the system. Documenting this set up and then testing. Often supporting the client through testing and with any questions and fixing any defects raised as a result of testing.
I am now recognised as a Oracle Procurement implementation specialist after building up my knowledge through training and on projects and passing the exam. Many soft skills and consultant skills picked up and developed through working in teams, reporting to managers on a weekly basis and also working face to face with the client. Also developed many new skills, some technical and also business related through the degree studies.
getting to work on different projects is fun and often can be interesting how different industries and companies operate. Colleagues are always hard work, fun, friendly and willing to help.
I have monthly update calls with my manager and have been recognised on our internal recognition portal. Your personal development is always taken into account and options for training and development are often sent through to you and you can request your own training as well.
I understand what I have to do by when, where I have to be in relation to Uni and on what dates for my entire program (up to 2 years ahead), therefore I would say it is well structured.
As much as required, if you feel you require more for specific modules it is easy to reach out and get this.
Colleagues and managers understand when you are not on site because of studies or when you to prioritise some studies for an evening and they ensure that your day job does not become so overwhelming the study is not possible. A lot of support.
