  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • my role is as an apprentice and I rotate around all the different departments. In the department I assist with some of the more senior people with the work they do and after speaking with the senior people they appreciate the work done by apprentices as they find that working with people who have learnt on the job helps.

  • I have learnt many new skills ranging from, timesheet skills, communication skills, networking skills, numeracy skills, and many more. this has been purely down to the fact that I am able to mingle with a lot of different people and their skills seem to be rubbing off on to me which is very useful.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I received a lot of support from the training provider as they are always sending out emails to us asking if we need help and always having the help at hand. However sometimes it can feel as though they focus on not important stuff and sometime miss out on the important stuff. if that is rectified the support offered would be amazing

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • the package at the moment is very well as I do not have substantial living costs. However if I was to move out the package would not cover all my costs, however the salary does go up which is a very good bonus. This is regularly reviewed by the employer and when compared with other firms it is one of the ighest which is always a massive bonus and good to know.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to KPMG?
  • make sure you focus on why KPMG? and make sure you are ready to sell yourself. anyone can get 100% in all exams but its not always the exams which sells a person. its there personality and that is the most important thing to focus on. In regards to KPMG, ensure that you have attended open days as this will allow you to see the working environment with in KPMG.
