I use CAD programs such as Autocad Revit to produce 2D and 3D models/schematics that will be used in further parts of the project.
I have learnt how to produce 3D and 2D models in CAD that can be used in this industry, College teaching me engineering parts of my industry while job experience fills in the rest.
I enjoy learning the industry I am in and always helped when required. Making my learning experience very enjoyable.
I feel very Valued by Arup as they invest a lot of resources to improve your learning experience, this includes a personal mentor and buddy to help you out anytime you need it. The wages are good for an apprentice ( however quite low in the overall working field ) and receive a good wage increases.
At work they will always support your learning in and out of the office, in college they will keep track on your learning and making sure the college in full-filling their role.
The college I go to supports me in and out of the college and when it comes to my NVQ, I get a personal meeting with a teacher that allows me to discuss targets. More than enough support is given.
Arup invest a lot of resources in making sure you are having a good educational side on the apprenticeship. As mentioned earlier a mentor and buddy is assigned to you that will be your personal helper if you so need it. They also keep track on your learning to make sure you understand everything.
Good pay for a apprentice even comparing it to similar companies, however Traveling in and out of London daily does eat into the pay a lot. The page increase is fair and is proportionate to your learning and usefulness in the work place.
Yes, as a company they provide opportunities to meet specialist of the industry, this greatly helps the learning.
Yes
Arup is a great example of what an apprenticeship should be, I heard too many horror story of apprenticeships taking advantages of the system. Arup invest in you and make you feel wanted.
Learn what the industry does/use/wants, then self teach what they, do/use/.
