My visit was during a Discover EY day, this involved us going being put into teams and doing tasks which gave us an insight to what would be normal in a day at EY. The tasks included exemplar audits etc.
Personally on this short day, I didn't gain any more skills however by working in a team in a more work place environment gave a better understanding to my knowledge of what life at a Accountancy firm would be like.
The day as a whole was great. The team and people which worked at the company were polite and helpful and also answered some questions that I asked. I believe that it met my expectations of finding out a little bit more of what a apprenticeship would be like.
The Discover EY day was good. Personally I felt very valued and respected. As there was a lot of people my age there, appreciation form manager was difficult but the employees on the teams where very good.
The day was structure well, we got adequate breaks and a good amount of information was told. The tour of the EY building was especially good and opened my eye to how offices are now not dark boring places.
The employees on the teams were helpful, not giving the answer however giving us a hint to get closer to the goal. The support was good. The trainers was easy to understand and delivered the information well.
EY is not my employer.
