As a trading analyst my principle role is to record the physical flows of crude oil between regions, informing the traders of any crucial changes.
Internally there are lots of informative training courses looking to boost a plethora of skills. Both my excel based competencies and soft skills have improved significantly and they are always looking to continuously raise them.
The programme thus far has been marvellous and has far exceeded the expectations that I had when I gandered into the building on the first day. The company culture is very inclusive, helpful and hard working.
You definitely feel valued as a member of the scheme. The roles involved are the same as either a grad or permanent hire would do, no one looks down even though you've just joined from school, and there is recognition for any exceptional work done.
The programme is structured so that at every level you are a valuable member of the team you're in. The structure also allows you to join a variety of different teams and do a completely different role each year, yet maintains flexibility so that you can pursue your individual end goal.
The training given is far beyond adequate to prepare yourself for both the role and to have a sound knowledge and understanding of the industry.
There is constant guidance and support from both the head of the scheme as well as from your line manager as to areas you're able to improve, both in terms of skills and work.
The salary far surpasses what I was expecting, and definitely meets all the costs required to either live in central London or to commute.
There are vibrant social circles both within the grads/school leavers as well as on the team you're on.
Yes
The company culture, skill development, and opportunities given to us, I would say are unparalleled compared to schemes at a similar level.
Be yourself, make sure that you've research the industry, and don't be afraid to ask questions.
