my role when I come out of my apprenticeship is a substation craftsperson. my role will be to maintain and fix equipment on site.
I have developed a wide variety of skills throughout my apprenticeship so far, this includes: panel wiring hand skills welding lathe work
I have enjoyed my program so far and I am looking forward to next year to complete my apprenticeship
I feel very valued at national grid.
the program is well set out with a mixture of on site training and college work.
you will receive feedback after every training course you do at national grid and will receive a review of what you have done every 10 weeks.
the salary is a great salary paying well. second year pay is £18,500
