  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Warehouse Controller - To ensure all automated logistics equipment on site is working, and to perform first line fix if necessary. Responsible for stock integrity (SAP, Physical, Warehouse Control system). Responsible for 16 AGVs & 4 Autostorage Facilities. Responsible for hand-held scanners & variety of logistics operations equipment. In total - keep logistics operations running across the entire factory. Responsible for department if Process leader is absent.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • NVQ Level 2 & 3. BTEC Level 3. Foundation Degree Level 4 & 5. Working & rescue at heights training. Many personal, communication related and networking skills. Logistics equipment licenses (Forklift, Reach Truck etc)

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • It has had its ups and downs, but has in total been a rewarding experience.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by BMW Group?
  • Recognition and praise for hard work is inconsistent. I feel valued by my manager / department, but definitely not by the company.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • There has been great deals of disorganisation throughout, but it has had enough structure to get us to our end goal.

  • Adequate support.

  • Manager - some. HR - none. Mentor- some.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Adequately - however when I am required to cover a job, I do not feel apprenticeship wage is adequate for the responsibility given, be it a good wage.

  • Yes many, however I do not utilise alot of these

  • 9. Would you recommend BMW Group to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Because it is a good working environment, there are many good people and the money is good for the work required.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group?
  • Read into your job role significantly before application. Be yourself, as personality is valued over qualifications.
