My role involves undertaking placements in various departments within the business. This involves helping out on engagements within the team, can involve speaking to clients depending on the placement and also involves an amount of off the job learning.
I have improved my Excel skills and my communication skills, as well as working towards my AAT level 3.
I enjoy my programme as I feel that I am learning a lot and the teams I have worked with have been extremely helpful.
I feel valued by KPMG as I am not left out of work or not given work and I'm treated the same as other members of staff. I have also received recognition for my work and exam results.
My programme is fairly well organised, as clear expectations are set and training dates are given well in advance, as well as plenty of notice being given for any mandatory meetings or events. The only improvement I would say could be made in this area is that communication regarding next placements can be a bit last minute.
I receive good support from my training provider, as tutors are on hand to answer questions, as well as receiving a large amount of practice and learning materials. There is also a forum which apprentices can use to help each other with questions.
I receive a good amount of support from my employer, receiving regular feedback about my progress with clear expectations set for my progress. I have a dedicated performance manager to discuss any problems with.
I feel I am compensated well compared to other apprentices, as well as there being help available with expenses to ensure I am not out of pocket.
There are many company events and social committees at work, both within the department and in the office as a whole.
Yes
KPMG is a good place to work and I have obtained a large amount of relevant experience.
Make sure to do research regarding the application process-it may also be helpful to research the departments that you could be placed in.
