I rotate within the business into the 3 different functions. Within my placement I will assist my in charge with different roles and each day will vary with different tasks. I have been given a lot of responsibilities within my placements, such as liaising with clients.
I am studying for a Level 3 AAT qualification at BPP university. Within the firm, we have training courses to ensure we are able to carry out our roles in our placements. I have developed my confidence and technical skills within my different placements.
I really enjoy the programme as I am working alongside other apprentices, but also I work closely with highly regarded members of the firm which is a really great experience. The culture of the firm is really inclusive and it really shows in every aspect.
We receive feedback from each engagement we are on, which is great as it shows that you are a valued member of the team. We also receive encore awards when we go above and beyond, which is really nice to see our hard work is recognised.
We had a week long induction which allowed us to get to grips with the firm, and also meet our cohort which really helped. The programme is well organised as there is always support with regards to our placements and also studying.
We can ask for more support if needed with studying, however usually the training provided is more than sufficient.
We receive a lot of support as we have a management team for the programme, but also management from our placements.
The salary is good for someone of school leaver age with minimum qualifications. The only expense is the travelling, however as this is paid when at a client site, it is not too bad. Also as lunch is paid for, this is an expense we do not have to worry about.
There are a lot of social events, both internally and externally with clients. There are networks within work that enable employees with similar interests to join together.
Yes
It is a really great firm to work for, they really value apprentices and you feel like a member of the team. They treat all employees really well with the benefits they offer.
Be yourself, embrace KPMG's values and sell yourself in the interview.
