I currently work as a First Line Support for BPS World. This position requires me to look after all of the staffs Hardware, Software and licences for them to carry out their job by reducing down time with any issues they might have. When I am not assisting staff members I offer training on the core platforms and work to providing better solutions through big projects a recent example being scoping out a new telephony system and incorporating it into the business myself.
I have learnt some new skills since starting at BPS World I take certain methods and tricks in order to help fix issue quicker and provide staff with useful tips or software that can help them with their work.
I really enjoy my program as I work learning on the job myself and do all my coursework at home or off site, I am also able to increase my salary by completing objectives every few months and have nearly earned my second pay rise.
BPS World truly values me as being the only 1st line support I am very crucial to the business, I am praised for the work that I do and are offered support and advice at any time that I need it.
The programme is structured very well, it outlines what I need to achieve in order to progress my career and can always be discussed with your manager.
BPS has an L&D team that will help you progress and to assist in hitting your targets. Although being the first IT they can’t offer any technical knowledge which is why my assessor from QA helps with my coursework with their experience to offer me help.
I get aa lot of support from my employer when it comes to my development ensuring that I am able to achieve targets and monthly objectives but at the same time not micro managing me with my day-day job.
The stating salary pays well for starting the apprenticeship, there are objectives to achieve in different periods 0-6 months, 6-12 months and 12-18 for myself to get a total of 20k per year salary and be able to achieve goals continuously after that as well.
BPS World offers many company events and socials to kick loose and have fun like BBQ’s and nights out with a free bar!
Yes
the hours or the positivity to work where I just hated going to work because I felt I was doing nothing meaningful with my life and career. But with BPS it was different I can apply knowledge in something I’m passionate with and really enjoy doing where I’m valued and appreciated for the work I do.
Show BPS what you are intrusted in, their not only just interested in your knowledge and experience but who you are as a person even if you think your passion isn’t good BPS are always interested in who you are.
