I worked for Blue Peter and was largely responsible for children's correspondence - opening mail, and selecting the best artwork to be shown on TV. There was also a competition running at the time, which I helped to organise the entries. Once a week I worked as a studio runner for the live broadcast.
I have now have good runner experience to add to my CV - particularly with looking after talent and contributors. I learnt a vast amount about how live broadcasting works.
It did get rather mundane day-to-day in the office, but I greatly enjoyed the studio days (although they were hard work). Everyone there was great to work with.
Yes I did feel valued. I expect that if I wasn't there, they would have suffered as a result, which isn't really what work experience should be, but made me feel much more useful.
The programme was very well structured, the BBC know what they're doing with work experience. There were a few times, however, when there wasn't much for me to do.
She checked in with a few times, but not very much. Unfortunately I never received my feedback from her at the end.

It was unpaid. No expenses even.
Not really, as I wasn't there for long
