My role consisted of shadowing employees within HSBC and what they did on a daily basis plus going through a lot of the training that the employees went through
I have learned a lot of skills around problem solving and working with others. The experience also helped with team building skills and working on common goals together
I loved the program as every day was something new to explore and enjoy from working with customers one on one to working as a team and going to meetings with a lot to learn
I felt immensely valued as there were At Our Best points to recognise each other and Digital Thank You cards that were great as it meant I knew my manager and peers had taken 5 minutes of their time to fill it in
My programme was highly organised and everything was explained and progressed at my pace with any questions answered fully and I never felt silly for asking questions
I received fantastic support from my trainer where they took me step by step through my induction and gradually progressed me through the programme building confidence along the way
As with the experience overall HSBC were brilliant in offering to help with any issues from my Manager to the site Manager and everyone was so approachable to discuss any problems I had
The salary/package met all costs of the placement was great because this was one of my concerns but with this being taken care of it was a worry squashed right at the start
With the fixed shift pattern offered I was able to plan my free time but everything was offered from an on-site gym, clubs for walking, fundraising events and also opportunities to take on challenges
Yes
Working with HSBC was a fantastic experience and a great company that really look after their employees and work with them to find out they need or want from their working life
The application can be lengthy based on the checks on credit and other needed checks to allow for you to work in the financial sector but after this it is plain sailing
