Assistant Associate in Audit. Daily tasks include basic audit testing and liaising with clients.
I feel like I have learnt a lot and developed new and existing personal and work skills.
The work has been as expected for someone in their first year at Deloitte however the culture is not how I expected it to be. The company culture isn't great as many people want to leave because it seems they do not enjoy their job. For a firm with a good reputation like Deloitte I expected it to be a lot more organised when booking people on jobs.
Managers are supposed to give feedback after each job however I have only received one piece to date. I do not feel like the more senior members of staff know who I am yet.
I had a very poor introduction and have never been introduced to the other Brightstarts at Deloitte as I was not invited to the weekend away the rest had. Training has been quite good as it took place with the new graduates. The mentors and exam support have been quite good.
The brightstart mentor has been very good and has always been there if I had any problems or queries.
Very little as we have a different manager for each job it is hard to build a relationship with them.
The pay is very good for someone of my age however I am on significantly less than a graduate who is doing the same work which seems a little unfair.
There seems to be a lot of social events and activities run by Deloitte if you want to participate however my social life with my friends has suffered due to commuting and long working hours.
No
I would recommend Deloitte to someone leaving university however not to a school leaver. I do not think that Brightstarts will be given the same amount of opportunity that a graduate would get here due to not having a degree.
Have lots of competency answers for the interviews.
