Customer assistant - this involved restocking shelves, tidying the shop floor, assisting customers and serving customers on the till
My skills that developed during my work experience were communication, confidence and time management
I enjoyed the customer aspect of the work experience, as I enjoy helping others and ensuring all of their needs are met. However, the tasks I undertook were often dull and tedious, but it gave me an insight into working in a retail based environment
I felt very valued whilst I was completing my work experience, as all of my hard work was noticed and everyone was very welcoming
The programme was only a 1 week work experience, however each day I had a clear idea of what tasks I had to complete
