My role is a Corporate Technology Summer Analyst. My daily tasks involve create and developing applications for clients of JP Morgan case. I am free to choose which projects I work on and my work week consists typically of 35 hours.
I have developed various skills in modern technologies, such as JS, Java, Angular, Node, Express, MongoDB. These were skills I had before the experience however they have developed since.
I thoroughly enjoy my programme, as it has provided me with a chance to demonstrate my knowledge in technology, before I come back to JP Morgan when I graduate. I enjoy working with my team and the placement has met my expectations.
I believe that every employee within JP Morgan is valued, however in my own experience I have found that my manager appreciates my commitment to the team and I am recognised for what I work on.
I believe that my programme is very well structured, as it started with initial support and training and built up to the core technology stack that JP Morgan uses. I have a mentor on hand at all times, and task delegation is very clear.
I don't receive much in the way of support from JP Morgan, however I believe that it is not needed. I already receive enough support from my university tutor. I enjoy the support I receive.
JP Morgan does not individually provide support for any of its employees, however there is a comprehensive private health plan for anyone looking for mental health support, and there is the ability to chat with a lot of your colleagues at any time.
The salary is very good but you have to take into account extra costs that you may run into as a result of working for an organisation like JP Morgan. These costs include additional costs in clothing, as all employees are expected to dress in business wear. JP Morgan has a very attractive package, that includes food, private health and dental care, a pension plan, and the ability to pick from other benefits alongside this.
JP Morgan does a lot to support it's local community. This is through many events that they host, that they make sure that all employees get to take a part in. There is also a very competitive sports club within the organisation. I however go home when I am not working to live a normal life.
Yes
JP Morgan Chase overall is an excellent organisation to work for, they have many benefits, and develop you as much as they possibly can within the timeframe of the placement. This is an excellent place to work.
Try and make sure your CVs stand out from other applicants in a unique way. Dress as formally as possible for interviews, prepare with banking knowledge before assessment days. Be prepared to sort out your own accommodation. Most of all, have fun, not a lot of people get to work at organisations like JP Morgan.
