Summer Placement engineer § Required shadowing other civil engineers and completing KPI's § Giving inductions to new members of the team and new site operatives § Helping the project manager, design manager, construction manager and senior engineer with their tasks
Fire Marshall training CITB health and safety test and CSCS card learnt how to manage a site and deal with day to day problems and activities looking after sub contractors
The people who work there are really nice. I really enjoyed myself and worked with the same people over 2 summers. Met people from other sites who were really nice swell and the mentor that I had was really good and helpful.
Very valued. Was offered a sponsorship from them which gave me 2 summer placements, money during term time at university and a graduate job. Gave me my own task to look after
Very well organised, sent the information early on and kept in constant contact with the recruiter and mentor
Met up with me multiple times to have meetings about progress and if I had any problems and kept in contact with me through email
progress meetings with my mentor and with my project manager and all of the staff helping to make sure I was okay and lend a helping hand if required
Got expenses for fuel but not for living but as I was getting paid swell this wasn't a big deal
There were a couple of events that I attended with colleagues such as leaving do's and volunteering. Also organised football against other contractors on the site
Yes
They offer a lot of support and are a well known company. They have given me great experience during my time at university
Don't be afraid to apply. They're often on the look out for apprentices and placements/work experience. There's a target that Interserve have to employ more graduates, placement students and apprentices. There are plenty of sectors to go into with them such as healthcare, FM, construction, etc and they are known globally
