We spent time in three different departments, getting to know the team, and the daily schedule of most trainee lawyers. We were given extensive information about the different areas of law, and most helpfully, the different routes into law.
I have enhanced my IT skills whilst working in the office. Most notably, perhaps, is how much I have learnt about the importance of good networking. The trainees stressed to me how important it was to value and respect every member of every team to put yourself in good stead for the rest of your career.
I enjoyed the programme very much, as I learnt a lot about the working environment in an office as big as Pinsent Masons. I learnt about the fast pace of a career in law, and I really enjoyed the great variety of tasks that I was given to do, all varying greatly. The experience exceeded my expectations and I really enjoyed my time here, as it has given me something to aspire to, and aim for.
The trainee solicitors that I was shadowing all treated me with respect, as if I was their peer, and answered all of my questions with elaboration and had a genuine interest in my thoughts about law.
I think that the structure of the programme was well done, with a wide variety of business exercises, work experiences and presentations. There was always someone to ask questions to, making sure that any uncertainties were quickly corrected.
I felt very supported by a wealth of different people. My peers were helpful in making me feel like part of a team in the business exercise, and the trainees that I shadowed answered any questions I had about the work they had given me, or just law itself.
There was great support from the HR team, and the different people that gave us presentations.
I was not paid due to the nature of the work experience.
We were told about the long term perks of working at Pinsent Masons, in terms of career, but also in terms of extra curricular activities- such as yoga, football, basketball and netball.
Yes
