I was a production intern for the Gorjys Music Festival. My day-to-day roles varied. In the weeks before the event, I would be preparing materials that we will need as well as getting in touch with the directors. Several days before the event, I went and stayed at the venue. I put up signs and tried to get the venue festival ready. I prepared packs for guests and artists. Then I helped makeshift a dressing room and production office and organise a system to bring artists and performers around, get them what they need and where they need to be while protecting their privacy. On the day I welcomed artists, checked them in, gave them a tour and took them to the dressing rooms and backstage.
I developed a better understanding into event planning and execution. I learnt to be innovative and come up with ideas and solutions to adapt to circumstances. I also learnt to communicate in a professional manner
I enjoyed being on my toes, of having to give input and make decisions when problems arose. The team ensured I was well and always asked for my input.
I was only under a Santander work placement scheme where I was placed in a company for work placement and as such had no direct contact with Santander
It was relatively structured but it was also a role that was ever changing from day to day depending on what was needed on that day. However, I was rarely confused and was always able to contact my superiors and clarify any uncertainties very easily. Task delegation was really good and everyone was doing their best.
Quite a fair bit. My uncertainties were clarified promptly and I was always asked for input so that I was truly contributing.
My wellbeing was ensured by them.
I was paid well by santander but was not compensated for travel. However, the pay was more than sufficient to cover transport costs.
No not really. The job was purely based on the event.
Yes
