So as a Retail Advisor, I would be sorting and restocking shelves, talking to customers and making sure the floors were clean and had no obstructions. I would often talk to the supervisor to make sure I was doing my job well.
I felt that when I worked for them, I found it easier to talk to customers and others. My communication skills got a lot better. I also found out what a retail job involved and all the other roles within the industry.
I found that the team I worked with could've been a bit more enthusiastic but they were lovely and great to work with. The company as a whole was very good as they all knew what they were on about. It was very fun.
I felt that I was valued at my time at Boots. I thought that every member of staff I worked with were very supportive. I also felt like I always had something to do and I wasn't ever distracted in my work.
I was put through training on my first day where I was put in a room with a computer on my own for an hour and a half which I found quite intimidating. Other than that, I felt it was a very well structured programme
Whenever I had a problem, some members of staff were very supportive and the manager/supervisor also were supportive. Some others weren't as nice about things and didn't really tell me what I needed to do
I got a lot of support from the employer as I was always checked on and was always on hand to help me out with anything. Hours were compromised with me as well to work around other commitments
The salary was quite fair although I hoped it could've been a bit higher as it was hard to live off at times. Location was never a problem for me as I only lived a 15min drive away and my parents would drop me off.
I didn't feel like a lot went on outside of work in relation to the work. When I wasn't at work, I was studying another course along side. I also dance which is one of my biggest passions and I always had that in the evenings.
Yes
Staff were very friendly and you are never completely left out. I always felt needed and was never wondering what to do. The salary isn't too bad. The supervisor isn't that scary and approachable.
Go in with confidence and make yourself feel comfortable in the environment. I always find that if I feel like I've been there a long time, I find it easier in the interview. Be prepared for a lot of stocking shelves!
