The role had involved stocking shelves, and ensuring that they are looking presentable to customers and also that products were in the right place. I also dealt with customer enquiries.
Yes, I have learnt better people skills from this role but aside from that I have also learnt a lot regarding stock management and customer service.
I enjoyed the experience very much because it was a chance to get in to real work and give me the chance to get something to put in my CV.
I felt moderately valued, they did care about me as a work experience person but I did not get included in some team meetings. So I felt excluded from some of the team.
The scheme wasn't quite organised and it was just working in a normal role and there was no structure to it at all, but they did give me my responsibilities from the start.
I received support whenever it was asked for if I needed anything however I did not get approached asking how I am getting on or settling in.

It was basic minimum wage which was not great for me however it was good to get the experience either way, which I feel outvalues the wage.
There was very little out of work opportunities because I did not feel fully included within the team and accepted by everyone.
No
I wouldn't recommend them for the work experience because you are not fully included in the team as a permanent staff but for full time job I would.
I would advise you be yourself and express your willingness to work in retail and also be able to work as a team as this is vital, otherwise you will have some Problems along the way.
