I have joined as a Test Analyst but get to do so much more. So far I have worked on developing an automated cloud solution, which has given me exposure to some very advanced technologies and given me opportunities to work alongside very experienced colleagues. I've not at all been held back by being an apprentice.
I've learnt tonnes of new skills. There's the two languages I learnt during the initial 8 weeks, the things I've had to teach myself to deliver on tasks I've been given in the office, and online courses I've completed which are made available to any Capgemini employee.
I couldn't be happier with my job. I enjoy my role and the people I work with, which I think is all a big part of Capgemini's culture; work can be fun.
I've been made to feel very valued by Capgemini - I've put 100% effort into the programme and it's been recognised.
The initial training at the start of the programme couldn't have been delivered any better, the lecturers were brilliant. There is less structure now that we are fitting the programme in around work but I don't think this is any less so than is to be expected when distance learning.
I understand that support is available and how to reach out to it, but have not to date had the need to do so.
Support form my employer is fabulous; I've been wholeheartedly encouraged in my personal development and had many more opportunities presented to me than what I expected as an apprentice.
I just about break even but my situation differs to most apprentices, I'm older so therefore have more expenses. I will say however that it was well worth the drop in salary to embark on this journey with Capgemini.

If you're looking for a career in IT it's an opportunity not to be missed.
It's a really friendly process. Just show enthusiasm and energy but be yourself and don't be shy at the assessment centre. It's a very positive and fun process, which is why I chose Capgemini over other degree apprenticeships.
