I work in the operational HR team dealing with all internal and external recruitment for the Head Office. By daily tasks consist of looking through job applications, sending out tests, co-ordinating recruitment days. I also look after the co-ordination all of our French trainee placements.
I have learnt many new skills throughout my apprenticeship. My time management skills have improved massively as I have a lot of work to prioritise so it helps to manage my time effectively. I have attended a few training courses on recruitment that have definitely expanded my knowledge.
I really enjoy my programme. I am always busy which is really great, some days it is a little overwhelming with the volume of work the team are doing but there is always support. Our department have a great culture, we always do things outside of work which I really enjoy.
I do feel valued by the PSA Group - my team will always praise my work if I do a good job on a task. I enjoy getting my work completed and feel proud of myself when I do a good job on a task.
My programme is well organised, our assessors will visit every 2-3 months to check we are up to date with any work that we are doing.
The training provider supports me with my work. They come and visit every 2-3 months to check we on track and answer any questions we may have. They also respond quickly if you email them with a query which is useful when you're trying to complete your work.
I receive a lot of support from my employer. My manager and team always check in with me to make sure I am ok and are always available to answer any questions I may have.
My salary meets my costs well, I am able to go on holidays, out at weekends, etc and still have some left over. It also covers my travel costs to and from work.
There are opportunities outside of work. The company organise the Christmas party and a Summer BBQ which are always fun. Our department also has regular nights out which are great fun.

It is a great place to learn key skills for your career, everyone is willing to help you progress and do as well as you want too. You get a lot of responsibility during the apprenticeship which really pushes you to develop.
Ensure you have research before applying and always prepare for interviews, assessment days, etc. I think it is important to know that it is a real job and you will be given real responsibility so it is good to be prepared for that.
